Starship Jam
Launch every ship, seat all the crew, clear the jam
Starship Jam is a space sort puzzle about reading a traffic jam before you touch it. Tap a ship and it launches, but only if its lane to the edge of the pad is completely clear, then it docks in a berth and the crew at the front of the queue board on their own. Fill every seat and the ship departs, freeing the berth for the next one. Two puzzles run at once, a sliding jam on the pad and a sorting puzzle in the berths, and Starship Jam is out now on Google Play.
How to play
- 1Tap a starship to launch it; a blocked lane keeps it dimmed and grounded.
- 2Launched ships dock in the berths above the pad and wait there.
- 3The crew at the front of the queue board the first docked ship of their colour, automatically.
- 4A fully seated ship departs and frees its berth.
- 5You are stuck when every berth is taken and nobody at the front matches, so read the queue first.

Game modes
Campaign
Endless pads, with three stars for a perfect read.
Daily Run
One pad a day, the same for every player, with a streak to protect.
Time Attack
Clear the pad before the clock runs out, scaled to its size.
Perfect Run
No hints, no undo, no extra berth, just you and the board.
Tips and strategy
- •Read the whole board before your first tap; a wrong launch can jam a berth for good.
- •Launch ships in the order the crew actually arrive, and you may never need more than one berth.
- •Watch the crew queue as closely as the pad, since the two puzzles feed each other.
- •On Perfect Run, slow right down; there is no undo to save a rushed move.
The Starship Jam strategy guide
Two puzzles on one board
Starship Jam combines a sliding traffic jam with a sorting puzzle. On the launch pad, a ship can only take off if its lane to the edge is completely clear. Once launched, it docks in one of a limited number of berths, and crew at the front of the queue board automatically when a docked ship matches their colour. A ship that fills up departs and frees its berth.
The difficulty comes from how the two halves feed each other. Launching the right ship is not enough; it has to be the ship whose crew is about to arrive. A ship launched too early sits in a berth and blocks it, and when every berth is taken and nobody at the front of the queue matches, the board is stuck.
Read the queue first
Before launching anything, look at the crew queue. The colours at the front tell you which ship you need next. Then check whether that ship's lane is clear. If it is blocked, the ships in its way have to move first, and ideally they are ships whose crew arrive soon afterwards.
A strong run launches ships in close to the order the crew arrive. When that happens you may never need more than one berth at a time, which leaves the rest free as a safety margin.
Managing the berths
Berths are the limited resource. Every ship parked in a berth that will not be filled soon reduces your room for error. When forced to launch a ship out of order to unblock a lane, prefer one whose crew appear soon in the queue, so it does not occupy the berth for long.
Choosing a mode
Campaign awards three stars for a perfect read of the queue, not for speed, so it rewards careful planning. The Daily Run is the same pad for every player. Time Attack adds a clock scaled to the size of the pad, and Perfect Run removes hints, undo and the extra berth, so it is the purest test of reading the board before the first tap.
