Terms of Service
Last updated: September 1, 2026
These terms cover the BrainSnail website at brainsnail.com and the BrainSnail mobile app. By using either, you agree to them. They are short and written to be read.
Who can use BrainSnail
BrainSnail is open to anyone, and most of it needs no account at all. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them - see the privacy policy for what we do collect. If you are under the age at which you can agree to terms like these on your own, you need a parent or guardian to agree on your behalf.
Using BrainSnail
We grant you a personal, non-transferable licence to use BrainSnail for learning. Please do not misuse it: no scraping or bulk-downloading the question bank, no reverse-engineering, no automated play or falsifying scores on the leaderboard, no attempts to disrupt the service or other learners, and nothing unlawful.
Reading the site, linking to it, and quoting a passage with credit are all fine. Republishing the questions or articles wholesale is not.
Your account
You can play without an account, and your progress is stored on your own device. If you do sign in, you are responsible for what happens on your account, and you should tell us promptly if you think someone else is using it. You can delete your account data at any time - see Delete Your Data.
Virtual items and purchases
BrainSnail includes virtual items - gems, hearts, shells, XP - and an optional Premium subscription. Virtual items have no real-world cash value, cannot be exchanged for money, and may change as the game is balanced. They are a feature of the game, not property.
Purchases and subscriptions are handled by the app store, not by us. Billing, cancellations and refunds follow that store’s rules, and you manage or cancel a subscription through your store account.
Content and accuracy
The learning content is for general education. We work hard on it - every question carries a written explanation, and how questions are produced and checked is described on our editorial standards page - but we do not guarantee that everything is correct, and it is not a substitute for a teacher, a textbook, or professional advice.
If you find a mistake, please report it to hello@brainsnail.com. Corrections are the main way this content improves.
BrainSnail, its content, branding and mascot belong to us and are protected by copyright and trade mark law.
Ads and third-party services
BrainSnail is free, and advertising is part of how it stays free. The website and app may show ads served by third parties, including Google, which may use cookies or device identifiers to serve and measure them. Where consent is required, you are asked before any such cookie is set, and you can change your answer at any time from the privacy link on any page. Premium removes ads in the app.
We also use a small number of third-party services to run BrainSnail - hosting, sign-in, analytics and app-store billing. What each of them receives is set out in the privacy policy.
Availability and changes
We add and edit content continuously and change how features work. Units, questions and rewards can move or be rewritten. We try to keep the service running but do not promise it will always be available, and we may suspend or stop parts of it.
Ending your use
You can stop using BrainSnail at any time, delete the app, and delete your data as described above. We may suspend or end access for anyone misusing the service in the ways listed under “Using BrainSnail” above.
Disclaimers and liability
BrainSnail is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or incidental damages arising from your use of the service. Nothing here limits rights you have under the consumer law that applies to you.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, and will change the date at the top when we do. Continuing to use BrainSnail after a change means you accept it. If a change matters to you and you would rather not accept it, you can stop using the service and delete your data.
Contact
Questions about these terms, or anything else, go to hello@brainsnail.com - or use the contact page, which says what to include so we can answer quickly. See also Privacy Policy · Support · Delete Your Data.
