Plain-language summary: You can play BrainSnail without an account. If you sign in with Google, we back up your learning progress. We show ads and never sell your personal data.
Who we are
BrainSnail ("we", "us") is a learning app that helps people study general-knowledge topics through tiny quizzes. This policy explains what we collect and why. It applies to the BrainSnail mobile app and the brainsnail.com website, including the browser game.
Information we collect
Play without an account:your progress (XP, streaks, shells, answers) is stored locally on your device. We don't need personal information for you to learn.
If you sign in with Google: we receive your name, email address, and profile photo via Google/Firebase Authentication, and we store your learning progress in our database so it syncs across devices.
Automatically: basic technical data such as app version, device type, and general usage needed to run the service and fix bugs.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information.
How we use your information
To provide the app, save and sync your progress, run leaderboards you opt into, show relevant content, keep the service secure, and improve the experience.
Advertising
The mobile app may show ads through Google AdMob. Ad providers may use device identifiers to serve and measure ads. Where required (for example in the EEA/UK), we ask for your consent before personalized ads are shown. See Google's advertising policies. BrainSnail Premium removes ads.
Services we use
We rely on trusted providers to run BrainSnail: Google Firebase (authentication, cloud database), MongoDB (content and progress storage), and Google AdMob (advertising). These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms.
Children
BrainSnail is a general-audience education app and is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). If you are under that age, please use the app without signing in, and do not provide personal information. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Your choices and rights
You can play without an account, sign out at any time, and request that we delete your account data by contacting us. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data.
Deleting your data
You can reset your on-device progress at any time from Profile → Settings → Reset progress, and you can ask us to delete your synced account data and leaderboard entry. For step-by-step instructions, see Delete Your Data.
Data retention & security
We keep account data while your account is active and delete it on request. We use reasonable technical measures to protect your data, though no method of storage is 100% secure.

We may update this policy and will change the date above. Questions or requests? Email [email protected].
