Bones, joints and the skeleton

Bone is the part of the body most people picture as inert, which is exactly backwards. It is living tissue with a blood supply, it remodels itself continuously in response to load, and it is where blood cells are made.

The unit covers the skeleton's structure and its jobs - support, movement, protection, mineral storage, blood production - along with joint types and what actually happens inside a bone as it grows and repairs.
