It covers recovering colour from fossil melanosomes, molecular palaeontology, isotope chemistry, CT scanning and digital fossils, and the ethical questions around fossil collecting and the commercial market.

Where people slip

Recovering dinosaur DNA is not on the table. DNA degrades far too fast, and molecular palaeontology works on far more durable molecules like collagen fragments.

How the unit is structured
