Science · Unit 4

My Body and Health

Keeping your body healthy and safe

A practical unit rather than an anatomical one: what the body needs, and what actually helps or harms it.

It covers food groups and balanced eating, why exercise and sleep both matter, how germs spread and why handwashing works as well as it does, and the everyday care - teeth, skin, eyes - that has a much larger effect than most people expect.

This unit breaks down into 22 short steps and 129 questions, starting at difficulty 1 and building to 2. Below you can see exactly what it covers, how the path is structured, and worked examples with explanations.

Where this fits

Independent of the other units. Biology's Human Body Systems covers the same body mechanically rather than practically.

Where people slip

Not all germs cause disease and not all illness is caused by germs. Most bacteria on and in you are harmless or actively useful.

How the unit is structured

My Body and Health runs as 22 short steps that unlock in order. 16 are practice rounds and 6 are challenge rounds that pull together everything before them. Questions start at difficulty 1 and climb to 2 as you progress.

Where these questions come from. Each unit starts as a plan of the concepts it should cover and the difficulty it should span. Questions are written against that plan with AI assistance, then checked by a validator that rejects anything without a single defensible answer, an explanation, or plausible wrong options. How we write questions sets out the whole process, and corrections are fixed in the bank and reach the site and the app the same day.
