Astronomy began as the study of what anyone can see by looking up, and it is worth starting the same way. Everything in this unit was known long before telescopes existed.
It covers the Sun's path, the Moon's changing appearance and position, the stars and why they appear to wheel overhead, and the constellations - which are patterns imposed by people rather than groupings that exist in space.

Where people slip
Stars in a constellation are usually nowhere near each other. They look adjacent because they lie in roughly the same direction, and their distances can differ by hundreds of light years.
How the unit is structured
The Day and Night Sky runs as 21 short steps that unlock in order. 15 are practice rounds and 6 are challenge rounds that pull together everything before them. Questions start at difficulty 1 and climb to 2 as you progress.
