Physics runs from everyday pushes and pulls through forces, motion, simple machines, energy, light, sound and electricity, then into kinematics, dynamics, gravitation, thermodynamics, waves, optics, electromagnetism and modern physics.
The early units are deliberately non-mathematical, building intuition about how things move and why. The maths arrives later, and by then the concepts it describes should already feel familiar rather than abstract.
Physics is the attempt to describe everything with as few rules as possible, and it succeeds well enough that the same equations govern a dropped ball and a planet. It is also where most people's everyday intuitions turn out to be wrong.

How to approach it
- Build intuition first - the equations describe things you should already picture

The thing people get wrong
That physics is mathematics with objects attached. The equations matter, but the difficulty is almost always conceptual - most wrong answers come from an incorrect picture of the situation rather than from arithmetic.

Newton's laws are the core of classical mechanics and correct a lifetime of wrong intuitions. Energy is the accounting system that makes the rest tractable, and waves generalise to light, sound and almost everything that travels.
