The units in this track cover settled science. This one covers the parts still moving, where the textbooks are being rewritten and the honest answer is often that nobody knows yet.

It covers biotechnology, nanotechnology, artificial intelligence and data science, and renewable energy technology - fields that are interdisciplinary by nature and do not fit neatly in any single subject.

This unit breaks down into 22 short steps and 130 questions, starting at difficulty 4 and building to 5. Below you can see exactly what it covers, how the path is structured, and worked examples with explanations.

Where people slip

Frontier science is provisional by definition. Some of what is described here will turn out to be wrong, and that is the normal operation of the process rather than a failure of it.

How the unit is structured

Frontiers of Science runs as 22 short steps that unlock in order. 16 are practice rounds and 6 are challenge rounds that pull together everything before them. Questions start at difficulty 4 and climb to 5 as you progress.
