A measurement without a unit is not a measurement, and a measurement without an idea of its uncertainty is not much better.

The unit covers SI units and why standardising them mattered, measuring length, mass, volume, time and temperature, estimating and rounding sensibly, and the difference between accuracy and precision.

Where people slip

Accurate and precise are not synonyms. A scale reading 5.001 kg every time for a 3 kg mass is extremely precise and badly inaccurate.

How the unit is structured
