Science produces knowledge; what gets done with it is a separate question, decided by people with interests, budgets and values.

The unit covers how scientific findings reach the public and get distorted on the way, how to tell science from pseudoscience, the ethical questions technologies raise, and the energy and environment choices where the science is settled and the politics is not.

How the unit is structured
